A one-of-one upcycled denim jacket, fully hand-reworked with an intricate beaded coastal sunset that unfolds across the BACK(!) and extends onto the front.
Constructed with katdana, stones, and sequins stitched in saturating sunset and festival tones. The design aims to evoke the moment of sunset–when the sky turns pink and orange, and everything feels more real, festive, and alive. ♡
Palm trees frame the foreground on the front and back, and a glowing beaded sun emanates outward in yellow and gold katdana work, with layered bands of coral, orange, pink, and blue sky built in stripes. The ocean in the front sees a boat sailing across the surface. There's "Mirchi" on one sleeve, and scattered stonework and sequins along the sleeve and upper body.
The long liquid silver fringe along the back yoke cascades down along the sleeves. We wanted to make the jacket kinetic, inspired by the movement of ocean waves hitting the shore–retreating, and surging forward. The tassels move with this rhythm: swaying from one side only to return to the same spot. When you lift your arms, it extends the seascape on the jacket into motion.
Inspired by Goa. A place we love so much!!
